The 22nd Biostudies Student Symposium

The 22nd Biostudies Student Symposium (BSS) marks the third year since its renaming from International Student Seminar (ISS) and more than 20 years of history of an annual student event in the Graduate School of Biostudies (GSB). Built on the Student Seminar’s tradition of encouraging young students to present their work, receive feedback and exchange academic knowledge, the Student Symposium has expanded in scale to also connect the young scholars with distinguished professionals and GSB alumni in both academia and industry through multiple activities such as invited lectures and career development panel discussion. Our mission is to offer the young generation invaluable advices from successful seniors, kindle inspiration and foster worthy networking and collaboration. The slogan of this year “Unlocking the future with science” reflects our belief that scientific discoveries, despite how big or small, will contribute to numerous remarkable advancements and bring forth a brighter future for all, despite all the turmoil we are facing nowadays. We hope that throughout this annual tradition, all participants will gain fond memories, invaluable insights and a strong faith in scientific endeavors, and will be able to join hands to unlock our future together!
